Smith Fig Tree A highly regarded heirloom (also known as Becnel’s Smith) prized for its rich, complex flavor and excellent rain resistance. Originally from Croatia and popularized by the Becnel family in Louisiana, Smith is a top performer in humid and short-season climates. Grown from cuttings at Red Rock Orchard in the high desert of southern Utah, this variety demonstrates strong adaptability.

Fruit Characteristics
